BLACKBIRD BEND RE-OPENS

Well, it looks like somebody is going to re-open Blackbird Bend in Onawa. The tribe official listed as the contact person is the same asshole who burned all of our wagons last year. After offering the track to every possible legitimate promoting prospect in the area and being rebuffed, they evidently plan on either running it themselves, finding some poor lamb for slaughter to lose his own money promoting it, or they found someone willing to take a weekly check to act as their "promoter" and do what they say. I've even heard that they want a 100% Indian staff from concessions through track officials. The only two people at the joint who knew anything about running the track were Jim Johnson and Brad Appleton, and they don't work there anymore.
In the plainest of terms, this looks like a complete clusterfuck.You racers and fans are big boys and girls. If you want to act like the abused girlfriend who keeps going back to the asshole who slaps you around, so be it, but don't bitch and moan when you're looking for a new track to race at in June. I, frankly, don't see many members of the racing community supporting the place, other than guys who really need the money or ego boost of slapping around a few field fillers. Those of you who do frequent the joint deserve whatever you get. I know it won't be the respect of your peers.
