Flying dirt and howling race engines capped the fun Tuesday at the 2008 Sioux County Youth Fair in Sioux Center. Hobby Stocks kicked off the evenings action with Andy Boeckman of Wall Lake taking the win over early leader John Briggs and Mike Loutch. Alton's Harvey VandeWeerd led flag to flag for the B-Mod victory over fellow Dutch country racers Nick DeLeeuw and Dan VanBruggen. Troy Woelber hounded early leader Roger Verdoorn for much of the Street Stock feature before making a late pass for the win. Behind Woelber and Verdoorn, Stephan Sybesma rounded out the top three. The Modified feature went to Dirk Kirk of Sloan who out dueled Mike Albertson and Randy Brands for the victory. The final feature of the night was the HRA non-winged Sprint Cars, and Clint Garner took control early and flew to the victory over the hard charging duo of Bret Mellenberndt and Dusty Ballenger. The next event at Sioux Speedway will be on Friday August 8th.
