JULY 4TH AT BUTLER COUNTY MOTORPLEX 7-4-08

   The sun and wind dried out the track for the early races on July 4 at Butler County Motorplex.
   The dry-slick track resulted in very close racing for the excitement of the drivers and fans.
   
   Scott Bivens took advantage of his starting position and controlled the first of three IMCA
   Modified heats from start to finish. Jordan Grabouski took second followed by Tom Svoboda
   and Brent Schlake. Mike Densberger took the win in heat number two. Mike Stearns was
   second with Brian Cudly third and David Jewitt Jr. fourth. Ross Afrank took the early lead in
   the final IMCA Modified heat race but Chris Alcorn took control after the race resumed following
   a caution flag and got the win. Afrank finished second, Chad Andersen was third and Jim
   Krupicka fourth.
   
   Amanda Rhiley grabbed the lead in the IMCA Sport Compact heat race but Shawn Turner took
   over on the second lap and went on to victory. Amanda finished second with Dan Rhiley third
   and Justin Busboom was fourth.
   
   Shane Schneider dominated the first of three IMCA Hobby Stock heat races and took the win.
   Kyle Hein was second with Jerrid Becker and Quinten Spragg rounding out the top four. Dale
   Bittner led the distance in heat number two as Branden Kresha challenged in second. Jeremy
   Hoskinson was third and Mike Goldfuss fourth. Duane Schroeder found the quick way around
   the track in heat three to take the win. Rich Small finished second with Brandon Nelson third
   and Dusty Poessnecker fourth.
   
   Max Harder won the first of two IMCA Sport Mod heat races. Geoff Olson was second followed
   by Jim Hendricks and Kyle Becker. Heat number two was won by Denny Berghahn. Steve
   Swarthout was second, Rod Bronson third and Dan Vavrina fourth.
   
   Shawn Turner led the IMCA Sport Compact feature from lap two to the end for the win. Justin
   Busboom managed to take second followed by Dan Rhiley and Ben Simpson.
   
   The Hobby Stock feature had problems at the start of the race as Kyle Hein led the first lap but
   then lost control in corner two. Shane Schneider took the lead as the race resumed on lap
   number two. Schneider managed to maintain his lead position until the white flag lap as
   Jeremy Hoskinson took the lead and the win. Schneider finished second with Mike Goldfuss in
   third and Brandon Kresha was fourth.
   
   Rod Bronson took the lead as the IMCA Sport Mod feature got under way. Bronson continued
   to lead until lap three as Max Harder took control of the race. Harder had the fasted lap time
   and the lead until lap number fourteen as Denny Berghahn took the lead and his lap speed
   held up for the fasted time of the night. Harder was second followed by Jim Hendricks and
   Geoff Olson.
   
   Brent Schlake grabbed the lead as twenty-one IMCA Modifieds took the green flag for their
   feature race of the night. Scott Bivens took the lead on lap four after a caution flag stopped
   the racing. Jordan Grabouski took the lead on lap six but Bivens regained the lead on lap
   number eight. Chris Alcorn moved into the lead for lap number nineteen of the race only to
   have Bivens take the lead again on lap twenty-one. Alcorn made his final bid for the lead on
   the white flag lap and take the win. Bivens was second, Jordan Grabouski third and Todd Topil
   finished in fourth.
