JOHN ANDERSON GOES A-Z TO CAPTURE ALPHABET SOUP RACE WIN AT I-80

   Greenwood, NE (May 25th, 2009) Sixty-Three Super Latemodels jammed the pits at the I-80 Speedway Sunday night in Greenwood, Nebraska for the $5,000 to win, 50 lap Alphabet Soup Race, but it was the defending O'Reilly MLRA Presented by Lucas Oil Products Champion, John Anderson picking up the win in what many spectators described as "the best race they had ever watched". Marquette, Nebraska's Kyle Berck started second and finished second while 5-Time MLRA Champion Al Purkey worked his way from his 12th starting position to finish third. Another former MLRA Champion, Alan Vaughn came from 10th to finish fourth while Denny Eckrich rounded out the Top-5 with a stirring drive from his 25th starting spot.
   
   Denny Woodworth charged from 17th to finish 6th, while Mike Wiarda captured the 7th spot in the final rundown. Jason O'Brien, Joe Kosiski, and Aaron Seabaugh rounded out the top 10. The Annual Alphabet Soup Race pits the best of the O'Reilly (Midwest Latemodel Racing Assocation) MLRA against the best of the World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) and the National Championship Racing Association (NCRA).
   
   Anderson's Greg Junghan's owned MasterSbilt Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine with sponsorship support from Shop Quik Convenience Stores, Sunoco Race Fuels, MarCorp Electric, REM Plastic Racing Products, and F.A.I.T.H. (Friends Are In The House) Youth Team.
   
   Heat Race Winners included John Anderson, Alan Vaughn, Justin Cooper, Ronnie Wallace, Chad Simpson, Jeremy Grady, and Criag Preble.
   
   Consolation Race Winners included Josh Most, John Kaanta, and Joe Kosiski
