It was a beautiful night for the races as KSUX 105.7 presented the NASCAR Whelen All American Series at Park Jefferson Speedway. When the final checkered flag flew, many familiar faces would fill victory lane as Reese Coffee, Randy Cass, Eli Zevenbergren, Greg Golden, Jake McClure, and Trent West and Lucas Morton would all find feature wins.
At the drop of the green flag, not many fans knew what to expect as the VerHoef Automotive Modifieds took to the speedway. At the start Matt Bonine would lead the field and would stay stuck to the bottom of the speedway as that was the best suited line for his machine. As Bonine would lead, Reese Coffee would come from his fourth row starting spot up to the second position. Coffee would set up the pass for the lead over many laps, as he would look low, high, and low again, before finally making the pass to the high side of the speedway in turn one. Coffee would pull away and pick up the feature win ahead of Bob Moore, Chris Abelson, Jesse Cowles, and Bonine.
The B&B Salvage Stock Cars featured an intense battle for the lead from the word go. Mark Stanley would bring the field to the green and lead the first few circuits and lead as Tom McKenzie and Mitch Dowhower would move from the back of the field to the front. McKenzie took the top spot away, but after a caution relined the field, Dowhower would take the top spot in a great side by side battle. As the top two raced at the front, Eli Zevenbergren was making a charge. A three wide battle that had the crowd on its feet would showcase the great driving of all three drivers, with Zevenbergren taking the top spot, and dominating the closing laps ahead of McKenzie, Dowhower, Jason Ward, and Curt VanBeek. Stanley fell to the sixth spot.
A 20 car starting field would take the green in the Motor Parts Central 360 Bmod feature. After a few attempts at the start, Todd Saunders would emerge as the leader on the top of the speedway. Greg Golden would take over the top spot early on, with Saunders fighting back, before Golden would open a sizeable advantage. Golden opened his lead and a four car showcase for the second spot kept fans captivated. Ty Merrill, RJ Merchant, Saunders and Greg Peck would race two, three, and sometimes even four wide for the runner up spot. Golden took the checkers as Merrill was scored ahead of Peck, Merchant and Saunders. Golden wrapped up an eventful evening with some burnouts on the front stretch.
Jake McClure had not won a feature all season long in the Yankton Automotive Machine Hobby Stock division. This fact was not lost on many fans who wondered what was going on with the 11m machine. McClure was not to be challenged on this night as he would lead from Green to Checkered. This is not to say McClure was not challenged as he was under constant pressure from Rusty Montagne. Montagne and McClure put on a clinic on clean racing as both cars would emerge without a scratch as Montagne was never able to get past McClure. Paul Wenzlaff, Bill Woehler, and John Cain would follow the top two.
Randy Cass would take the victory from his son in the Steves Roofing Hornet feature. Tim Cass would follow dad to the line as Zach Ankrum widened his point lead. Trent West and Lucas Morton would also pick up the feature win in the 2 person Cruiser division.
