Eli Zevenbergen of Ocheydon, Iowa picked up his second feature in a row at Park Jefferson this Saturday evening. His second year in the B & B Salvage Stock Car division has matured this young driver and he showed his patience, waiting until the tenth lap to take the lead away from veteran driver, Ryan Harris. Zevenbergen used the top side of the track to his advantage for the pass after trying for several laps to make a move on the bottom. This gave him his second feature win in as many weeks to advance in the point standings.
Chad Rose of Sioux City picked up the win in the Steve's Roofing Hornet class. He was able to hold off point leader Zack Ankrum for the victory. Former Go-Kart racer Cody Thompson finished a close third. Rose remains second in the points battle.
John Cain of Homer, Nebraska was able to pull away for the win in the Yankton Automotive Hobby Stock Class. He took advantage of a caution flag to get around Justin Regnerus of Sioux Center. Craig Clift of Jefferson, SD finished in the third spot. Point leader Bill Woehler finshed in the fifth position.
Kyle Nordquist of Beresford, SD battled his brother Keegan for the lead and eventual win in the Motorparts Central 360 Modifieds Class. Keegan dropped out on lap 10 with problems, relinquishing the lead to Kyle, who was able to hold off a strong challenge from Jeff Brunssen driving a new Razor chassis and finishing a close second. Point leader Harvey VandeWeerd was bottled up in traffic and had to settle for a tenth place finish.
Chris Abelson of Sioux City had been knocking on the door the past few weeks, searching for victory lane in the VerHoef Automotive Modified Feature. Abelson started the race from the front row but went off the banking in corner three, which brought out the yellow flag. On the restart, Bob Moore of Sioux City took the lead, challenged by Jay Noteboom and Reese Coffee, both of Hinton until Noteboom also went high in corner four. Abelson wasted no time in working his way through traffic and into the runner-up spot. A third caution came out and shuffled the line-up once again. Ableson was able to hold off late race charges by Jim Cole and team mate Reese Coffee for the eventual victory.
The two man cruiser A feature was won by first time racers this season Andy Hoffman and Jeff Girard. The pair also picked up the heat race win Saturday night.
